About Us

The Ozark Pastel Society was originally formed because pastel Artists had no separate category in regional competitions.  Three Pastelists from Neosho, Missouri Organized the group that became the Ozark Pastel Society in 1987.  After we organized, the first regional competition agreed to give us a pastel division if OPS would  provide the funds for the pastel category awards, and that was accomplished.  We now have members in five  states and are recognized by the International Pastel Society.  We hold an annual Ozark Pastel Society Show , which is opened to all Pastel artist . We have a meeting every month on the third Saturday at the Library in Rogers, AR  on Dixieland Rd.  The meeting begins at 10:30 am and we usually have a program.
